Holding a consistent formation level across a whole site - so the slab sits flat, drainage falls correctly, and the builder's footings are set out accurately - is where the difference between a capable operator and an average one shows up. More material means more machine hours. Soft, free-draining ground moves faster than compacted clay or fill. Rock - particularly greywacke on some Canterbury hillside sites - requires different equipment and more time. Both are assessed on site before the quote is confirmed.
Good road access with a clear site entry works efficiently. Tight access, steep grades, overhead lines, or structures close to the work area takes longer and may require a smaller machine - which affects output rate and price.
If material leaves the site, tipping fees and cartage are a real variable - particularly in inner suburbs where there's limited space to spread. This is stated explicitly in every Bull Construction quote, not added at the end.
Standard scheduling works within normal lead times. Urgent mobilisation for a critical-path item may carry a premium depending on current schedule.
Four main things: volume of material, ground conditions at your specific site, access, and whether spoil needs to leave the property or can be redistributed on site. A flat Canterbury section with free-draining soil will quote lower than a tight urban site with clay and nowhere to spread material. All of these are assessed at the site visit before we commit to a number.

Confirmed in the quote scope. Topsoil and cleanfill can often be redistributed on site - spread across low areas, stockpiled for landscaping use, or used to form up banks. Material that needs to leave the property is carted to a Canterbury cleanfill facility; cartage and tipping fees are included in the quote explicitly.
